About the role Working afternoon shift (3.30pm to 11.36pm, and overtime as required) and reporting to the Group Leader, Fabrication – you will be responsible for the provision of ‘hands-on’ leadership that enables the team to deliver; safe, efficient and compliant fabrication and repair services to the Mining Division.
Duties
- Provide effective leadership and direction to allocated team members
- Manage team’s workflow to ensure deadline are achieved
- Coaching and mentoring of new starters and/or apprentices
- Training other team members on the job
- Active involvement in the continuous improvement of the Fabrication process
- Conduct tool box meetings and pre-start meetings
- Inspect completed components for compliance
- Accurate completion of documentation
- Liaise with third party vendors as required
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts and/or scissor lifts
- Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policy and Procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication)
- High Risk Licence LF, DG, CB essential
- Ability to read and interpret technical workshop drawings
- Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD essential
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience using MS software
- Mining industry and Liebherr equipment experience
- Welding Inspection IWI B, MPI tickets all desirable
