New cooperation: Liebherr and Kubota work together

Liebherr and Kubota Corporation are combining their expertise and establishing a long-term partnership. Through this strategic partnership, both companies are combining their strengths to create pioneering solutions that set new standards and offer added value for their customers. Both companies will benefit from each other's expertise as part of the cooperation: the proven quality of Liebherr wheeled excavators and the powerful engine of the Japanese Kubota Corporation. The first results of the cooperation: two new wheeled excavators in the nine and eleven tonne class.
The new Liebherr mobile excavators A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact expand Liebherr's portfolio of mobile excavators with two models in the nine and eleven-ton class.
With this new partnership, the two companies want to take advantage of synergies and offer customers high-performance earthmoving machines. The two Liebherr wheeled excavators in the nine and eleven tonne class are the first machines to be equipped with a Kubota engine. The cooperation is new terrain for both companies: Liebherr is presenting wheeled excavators in the 9- and 11-tonne class for the first time, while these two models are the first wheeled excavators in Kubota 's portfolio.
The new small excavator series was collaboratively developed under the leadership of Liebherr. Years of experience with wheeled excavators formed the basis for the two new models, which incorporate the proven Liebherr quality. With the Japanese company Liebherr has gained a strong partner who can contribute its expertise. The production of the new wheeled excavators will take place at the Liebherr Group's founding site in Kirchdorf an der Iller. Liebherr will launch the new wheeled excavator models under the names A 909 Compact (nine tonne class) and A 911 Compact (eleven tonne class).
Premiere of the new wheeled excavators at Bauma 2025
The two new wheeled excavators will celebrate their premiere for the public at Bauma 2025, where visitors to the world's most important trade fair for the construction and mining machinery industry will be able to experience the two machines live at both the Liebherr and Kubota booth.
