Eagle Specialty Materials utilizes two Liebherr PR 776 dozers at Belle Ayr Mine, a Wyoming based coal mining production and overburden handling site out of the Powder River Basin. Producing several million short tons of coal annually, the Liebherr PR 776 dozers provide essential operation for the mine.
As the country’s leading coal producer, Wyoming is home to prolific coal fields rich in reserves including the Powder River Basin. Situated in North-East Wyoming, the Belle Ayr Mine falls within the Powder River Basin and currently serves as an active coal mining production and overburden handling site for Eagle Specialty Materials.
With a mine life of 12-15 years, it’s crucial to ensure uninterrupted production at Belle Ayr, which necessitates the replacement of older machines. Eagle Specialty Materials opted for two Liebherr PR 776 dozers to keep operations on track and meet the high-volume demands. The company’s preference for Liebherr equipment stems from the dependable performance of the tier 4 engines, particularly under cold weather conditions.

The Liebherr PR 776 dozers are instrumental at the Belle Ayr mine, handling overburden dumps, creating ramps, and aiding in road maintenance. Despite obstacles such as weather challenges, changing ground conditions and production swings, the Belle Ayr mine consistently produces several million short tons of coal annually.
