Pioneering work in the quarry: Liebherr and STRABAG test hydrogen wheel loader

Together with STRABAG, Liebherr is taking important steps towards a decarbonised construction site. In a project that recently started at the Kanzelstein quarry in Gratkorn, STRABAG is testing Liebherr’s large hydrogen-powered wheel loader over a period of two years. Energie Steiermark will supply green hydrogen for its own hydrogen filling station at the quarry. The L 566 H wheel loader is the world’s first large wheel loader with a hydrogen engine.

Liebherr supplies propane-based HVAC systems for Stadler's Nordic Express

Liebherr-Transportation Systems was commissioned by Stadler Rheintal AG to supply 166 heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) units, which will be installed in Stadler’s NT FLIRT NEX trains, also known as Nordic Express. The HVAC systems use propane as refrigerant, a more climate-friendly alternative compared to conventional coolants.

A Challenging Application: Hollaus company puts Liebherr to the test in reservoir construction

Hollaus is an Austrian construction company renowned for its expertise founded on decades of experience and the application of the latest technology. The company equipment fleet is substantial and enables it to implement large, challenging construction projects in the Alpine region. Hollaus holds a pivotal role in the current construction project in the Austrian Zillertal: To underpin the viability of the ski resort, the company is constructing a reservoir, over 2,000 metres above sea level, which has a total usable holding capacity of 160,550 m³.

Liebherr and Fortescue at MINExpo 2024: Together for zero emission mining

475 zero emission Liebherr mining machines – with one of these machines having been unveiled at MINExpo 2024, on September 24: the autonomous battery-electric T 264 truck, containing a battery electric power system developed by Fortescue Zero. Together, the two companies will develop and validate a range of further zero emission mining solutions, which will result in a zero emission mining ecosystem operational by 2030. The billion-deal amounts to the largest single deal in the Liebherr Group’s 75-year history.

Liebherr-Aerospace and EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING announce the signature of a three-year agreement covering the maintenance of heat transfer equipment on board the Airbus A320ceo/neo fleet of EGYPTAIR. The contract also covers the Airbus A320ceo/neo fleets of other airlines, which are presently supported by EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING. The goal: Customers shall benefit from fast response and shorter turn-around-times as well as Liebherr’s Original Equipment Manufacturer experience.

BHP and Liebherr sign new Global Framework Agreement at MINExpo 2024

At MINExpo 2024, Liebherr and BHP announced the signing of a Global Framework Agreement. Built on an existing agreement, this renewed partnership solidifies Liebherr as one of BHP’s preferred mining equipment suppliers across the company’s global assets.

Better in every detail: the new 440 HC-L from Liebherr

The next generation of Liebherr luffing jib cranes has arrived. The 440 HC-L easily manages an out-of-service position of less than eleven metres, reducing the space required. Liebherr presents the A 922 railroad excavator at Innotrans 2024

Liebherr is presenting the A 922 Rail Litronic at Innotrans 2024. Because it is a railroad machine, the A 922 Rail is suitable for use on railway tracks and for road construction and is fast thanks to the mobile undercarriage. A rail travel drive is mounted on both sides of the undercarriage. When entering the rails, the rail travel drive lifts the tyres to rail height. The inside wheels of the dual tyres ensure travel of the excavator on the tracks.

New Liebherr mobile cranes for Scotland

To mark its 20th anniversary, Stoddart Crane Hire gave itself a special gift: just in time for its planned summer celebrations, the Scottish crane service provider put a new Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 mobile crane into operation. The family-run business, based in Muir of Ord, west of Inverness and about 10 kilometres from the famous Loch Ness, has made a name for itself as a crane service provider on Scotland's islands, among other areas.
