Liebherr Killarney
Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd.
Shipping lines and port operators demand high productivity rates in modern container ports. Port equipment must therefore prove extremely efficient and economic in use. Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. has over 50 years of experience in crane development and manufacture. In 1958 Hans Liebherr founded the company in Ireland as the first manufacturing plant outside of Germany. At the Killarney plant in the Southwest of the country, the company produces ship to shore container cranes, rubber-tyred and rail-mounted stacker cranes, and accessories. Liebherr container cranes are in use in over 100 ports and nearly 50 countries worldwide.

High-performance port equipment
Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. has an excellent worldwide reputation for reliable, high-performance port equipment and container cranes in all sizes – from straddle carriers right up to the latest generation of ship to shore container cranes in the Megamax class.
The product range includes:
- Ship to shore container cranes
- Rubber-tyred container stacker cranes
- Rail-mounted stacker cranes
Every crane is preassembled and checked by experienced Liebherr employees in the plant. This ensures time for assembly and commissioning at the installation site is kept to a minimum. Afterwards, the cranes are loaded onto charter ships in as large as possible assemblies. From the Port of Fenit over 40 kilometers away, the cranes are then transported for operation in ports throughout the world.

Local commitment
When it was founded in 1958, Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. was a pioneer in two senses of the word: The company was the first foreign Liebherr production company, and it was also one of the first industrial enterprises established by a European company in Ireland. Today, the company is an essential element of the local community in Killarney. Liebherr has thus been committing itself for years to local cultural, sport, and charitable projects, as well as events.
