Liebherr supplies series-produced propane-based HVAC systems for the first time

– HVAC units developed by Liebherr use R290 (propane) as natural refrigerant – Delivery of 80 saloon HVAC units, 80 heat recovery units and 40 cab units will start in September 2024 and end in December 2026– Units will be integrated in Stadler’s single-decker FLIRT electric multiple units operated in Finland

Liebherr-Transportation Systems was commissioned by train manufacturer Stadler Polska to supply HVAC systems with a special feature: The coolant used is propane, a natural refrigerant, which enables more sustainable cooling. This is the first time that Liebherr supplies series-produced propane-based HVAC units.
