Support for Lewandowska: A new Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 lattice boom mobile crane is going to Poland

  • LG 1800-1.0 supports the crane fleet at Lewandowska
  • X3 boom system for assembling wind turbines
  • Liebherr service and spare parts availability convince customers

The delivery of the new Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 lattice boom mobile crane, which has been on the market since the first half of 2024, has begun. The Polish company Lewandowska is one of the first customers to receive the new machine, thereby expanding its extensive crane portfolio. The high performance of the LG 1800- 1.0 and good experience with its predecessor were the deciding factors.

The Polish crane service provider Lewandowska is strengthening its fleet with a new Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 lattice boom mobile crane for erecting wind turbines. The extraordinary capacity of the 800-tonne machine and the positive experiences with its predecessor, the LG 1750, were decisive factors in the purchase decision. “We already have several LG 1750 machines in use, which have proven themselves in terms of performance, quality and reliability. The LG 1800-1.0 is significantly more powerful than its predecessor and offers enormous load-bearing capacity,” says Roman Lewandowski, President of the Management Board, explaining the reasons for the investment in the new machine: “The new X3 boom system is ideal for assembling wind turbines. This system offers maximum performance and more lifting height. The modern derrick ballast with V-Frame® enables the quick and easy adjustment of the ballast radius. This increases efficiency and offers us even more options for projects in the wind industry.” Hub heights of over 180 metres can be mounted with a main boom and a fixed tip.

The best of two worlds

With the mobile chassis and the load-bearing capacity of a lattice boom crane, the LG 1800-1.0 combines the benefits of both crane types, making it one of the strongest of its kind on the market. With a vehicle width of 3.0 metres, the powerful lattice boom mobile crane can reach any location extremely efficiently, making it the ideal partner for work in wind turbine and industrial plants. The Liebherr 9-axle machine is also equipped with state-of-the-art crane technology such as V-Frame®, VarioTray, ZF transmission, Traxon torque with ECOdrive and WindSpeed load charts.

Excellent service and spare parts availability are convincing

To be able to meet the requirements of the market and the customers in the future, the Lewandowska crane company has been relying on the Liebherr Group for many years to expand its crane fleet. In addition to the quality and reliability of the products, Lewandowska appreciates the high level of service expertise of Liebherr. “Customer service and the rapid availability of spare parts are becoming an increasingly important factor for our company,” explains Roman Lewandowski. “The fast response time and expert support of Liebherr customer service minimise downtimes. These are important prerequisites for us to complete projects on schedule and meet contractual deadlines,” says the President, praising the Liebherr service.

Lewandowska was founded in 1993 and provides crane services in Poland and Europe for the wind industry as well as industrial, telecommunications and construction projects. With around 180 employees and a fleet of 65 cranes, all of which come from Liebherr, Lewandowska is one of the largest crane companies in the country.
