Liebherr mobile cranes launch 100-tonne motor ship into water

The “Seegold” is a new motor ship for shuttle services on Lake Constance. In May two Liebherr mobile cranes have launched the 100-tonne ship's hull into the water. Tight spaces and the low capacity of the quay in Friedrichshafen made the lift a challenge. In use were an LTM 1350-6.1 from the Wiesbauer company, and an LTM 1400-7.1 from Paule. Find out more

LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane with Liebherr single-engine concept proves itself in use

Liebherr unveiled the new 300-tonne LTM 1300-6.2 at the Bauma 2013, featuring a brand new power concept to operate the superstructure. Instead of the twin-engine concept normally used on cranes in this class this crane is powered by a single engine with a mechanical shaft. Gear shafts are routed from the distributor gear in the substructure via two mitre gears through the centre of the slewing ring to the pump distributor gear in the superstructure. Several dozen models of this new crane have since proven their worth on sites around the world. Find out more

Liebherr LTF 1060-4.1 truck-chassis crane provides maximum load capacity of 60 tons

At the 2015 Maskin Expo, Liebherr displays the LTF 1060-4.1 truck-chassis crane with a maximum load capacity of 60 metric tons. This crane was first launched in 2009 as an addition to the top end of the cranes intended for installation on truck chassis. With a 40-metre telescopic boom and a 16 m double folding fly jib, this crane can lift loads to a height of up to 56 m and an outreach of 48 m. Find out more

Elcon Crane Hire adds Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 mobile crane to its fleet

South African crane contractor Elcon Crane Hire recently took delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 mobile crane. The 400-tonne model on a 7-axle chassis is a major expansion upwards for the crane fleet. Previously an LTM 1250-6.1 with a load capacity of 250 tonnes was the company's most powerful crane. Tense night job for Gertzen – Liebherr mobile cranes fit out luxury liner at Papenburger Meyer shipyard

At the end of February in North Germany the "Anthem of the Seas", the largest cruise ship ever built in Germany was moved out of the massive Hall 2 dock at Papenburger Meyer shipyard. It was only possible to install the funnel casing and "North Star" viewing gondola outdoors due to the sheer size of the vessel. The order for this work was awarded to Gertzen, based in nearby Kluse, which completed the job smoothly using two 750-tonne mobile cranes. Gertzen used the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 from its own fleet and an LTM 1750-9.1 hired from Thömen. Find out more

BMS Heavy Cranes A/S strengthens fleet with Liebherr LR 11350 crawler crane

Danish company BMS Heavy Cranes A/S added a heavy duty LR 11350 crawler crane to its fleet in April. The Liebherr crane with a maximum load capacity of 1,350 tonnes constitutes a major upwards extension to the family run company's fleet. The new LR 11350 is the largest crane in Scandinavia. In addition to the assembly of large wind turbines, it will be used for a range of projects throughout Europe. Find out more

Dornseiff adds Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 and LR 1250 mobile and crawler cranes to its fleet

Two new Liebherr cranes have been added to the fleet operated by Dornseiff Autokrane und Schwertransporte GmbH & Co. KG based in Burbach in the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia. An LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane and an LR 1250 crawler crane will strengthen the family-run company's crane fleet. The LTM 1500-8.1 with a maximum load capacity of 500 tonnes is the new flagship in the fleet. Find out more

Herbold takes delivery of new Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 mobile crane

"Herbold makes heavy loads light" is the slogan used by family-run company Rolf Herbold GmbH based in Öhringen, the largest town in the District of Hohenlohe in Germany. Herbold only uses Liebherr mobile cranes. The company recently took delivery of a new LTM 1070-4.2 to replace a 14-year-old LTM 1060/2. Find out more

Wasel returns damaged container bridge to operation with Liebherr mobile and crawler cranes

The container bridge on the River Rhine near Dormagen which suffered damage in storms in June 2014 has been repaired. Heavy load logistics contractor Wasel repositioned the portal crane, which measures over 100 metres in length. The demanding job took a total of two days. Five Liebherr cranes were used for the job. Fangmann adds Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 mobile crane to its fleet

Fangmann Industrie GmbH Co. KG took delivery of an LTM 1130-5.1 mobile crane at the Liebherr plant in Ehingen at the end of February. The 130-tonner on its five-axle chassis will extend and strengthen the company's fleet which previously only included mobile cranes with a load capacity of up to 100 tonnes. Find out more
