Virginia based, Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging, Inc. took delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane to add to their growing fleet. This mobile crane addition is Prillaman’s largest Liebherr crane to date offering high performance and low maintenance costs.

Prillaman’s provide many services throughout Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina including crane rental, rigging, heavy hauling, equipment storage, and NCCCO training and certification. The Prillaman team noted the primary criteria for this purchase encompassed several factors including quality of the product, customer service, technical support, warranty, training, and convenient location to their Hampton, Virginia shop.

"We chose the 1300, because it erects the same as the other Liebherr’s in our fleet. It will be easy for our employees to make this new transition since it transports and assembles similar to our other cranes,” noted Paul Prillaman, President of Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging, Inc.

Three generations

Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging, Inc., was established in 2007 when Paul N. Prillaman recognized the potential of incorporating a crane into his father’s tree care business. Initially using the crane for local jobs, Prillaman eventually expanded the operation, leading to the creation of Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging, Inc., which now handles numerous crane rental and heavy haul projects across the mid-Atlantic region.

The handover between Prillaman’s Crane & Rigging and Liebherr is a testament to the legacy of both family-owned businesses. This delivery highlights the dedication and values instilled over three generations, showcasing the commitment and values that have been the foundation of their success.

"The photo of our family with the new crane purchase reflects 3 generations of Prillaman's,” said Prillaman.

Top performer

The design of the LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane was developed with an innovative drive concept – the engine in the undercarriage powers the superstructure using a mechanical shaft, thus eliminating the need for a second engine and therefore significantly reducing maintenance costs for customers. Additionally, the lower weight can be used to increase lifting capacity.

The LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane is a simple, classic folding jib crane and is also Liebherr’s entry point into the luffing jib crane class featuring high performance, economy, and variable boom systems.
