    Liebherr supplies electrohydraulic leveling actuators to CAF

    Liebherr will supply 1,632 electrohydraulic leveling actuators to the Spanish rail vehicle manufacturer CAF. The electrohydraulic controlled actuators are integrated in light rail vehicles for Boston´s Green Line and raise or lower a train at the station’s platform so that passengers can board and de-board without any barrier.

    Flood protection on the Danube: Liebherr crawler excavators move 80,000 tonnes of gravel

    Quite a few passers-by stop on the banks of the Danube and pull out their mobile phones for a quick photo of two supposedly floating excavators. What appears surreal at first glance turns out to be two Liebherr R 938 crawler excavators tirelessly transporting gravel to the surface of the river. The spectacular deployment of the Liebherr machines is necessary to ensure the "flow" of the Danube along this section, thus contributing to flood prevention in the nearby city centre of Ulm.

    Liebherr’s components product segment supplies the heart of the rotating pillar for the bridge Friesenbrücke, which is being erected for Deutsche Bahn in Weener. It comprises a 5 metre, 12.5 tonne combined roller and ball bearing along with eight matching pinions. This rotating pillar and the associated mechanical systems by Hermann GmbH Maschinenbautechnologie support the 145 metre long, 1,800 tonne central section of Europe’s largest lifting swing bridge to date.

    Auto Kurz GmbH has taken delivery of a new LTM 1070-4.2 mobile crane from Liebherr. It replaces a five-year-old LTM 1090-4.2 in the crane fleet of the company from North Hesse. The Liebherr 70-tonner is a proven crane with innovative mobile crane technology. The renowned Liebherr service, quality and value retention were important criteria in the decision.

    Four Giants go for Windpower: BMS Heavy Cranes assembles offshore wind turbines in Esbjerg

    Everything is relative. While the popular Liebherr LR 1750/2 crawler crane is often the all-rounder on wind power construction land-based sites, Lars Thomsen, Onsite Project Manager at BMS Heavy Cranes uses it for smaller jobs at the site in Esbjerg, Denmark. The 35-strong BMS Heavy Cranes team in Esbjerg is currently performing a major order: The assembly of 106 wind turbine towers for a gigantic new offshore wind power park near Borkum. Work began in December 2023 and will be completed by the end of 2024. Thomsen's preferred hoists in Esbjerg are three Liebherr LR 11350 high performance crawler cranes in SDB configuration with 132 Meter main boom and 42 Meter Derrick.

    Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH converts to HVO fuel

    Since August 2024, the Liebherr factory in Nenzing, Austria, has switched to HVO fuel for the machines it produces. The big advantage in using this instead of fossil diesel is that it is largely CO2 neutral. The company is thus making an important contribution to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. The HVO fuel is now also being used in the factory’s supply chain.

The 300-tonne crane strengthens the fleet of the Thuringian crane and logistics company, which will be celebrating its 35th anniversary next year.     Fast and efficient Liebherr hydraulic excavators renovate taxiway at Hamburg Airport

    Things had to move quickly on Hamburg Airport's taxiway D1. After all, the interruption to flight operations on the affected taxiway had to be short-lived and the renovation work had to be carried out as quickly as possible. Just the right task for Liebherr’s hydraulic excavators. KEMNA BAU Andreae GmbH & Co KG relied on six Liebherr machines for the work, which were hired from Liebherr-Mietpartner GmbH. In addition to four wheeled excavators of the A 918, A 918 Compact and A 920 models, two R 920 Compact crawler excavators were also used. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of KEMNA BAU Andreae GmbH & Co KG and the perfect interaction of the Liebherr machines, the construction site was completed ahead of schedule.
