Liebherr and China Eastern Airlines have recently completed the maintenance of a nose landing gear of an Airbus A350. It was for the first time that such a complex maintenance procedure has been carried out for an airline in China operating Airbus A350.
The repair process required specialized tooling and precise handling of specific products provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer Liebherr, who has developed and manufactured the nose landing gear.
Despite challenging weather conditions including humidity and temperatures reaching up to 40 C°, the teams of China Eastern Airlines and Liebherr safely completed their task and met the deadline: The aircraft was ready for dispatch the next day, maintaining the airline's tight schedule.
This collaboration highlights the technical expertise of the Liebherr team as well as its ability to tackle complex challenges under demanding conditions. As pointed out by China Eastern Airlines technicians: “This efficient approach and swift response not only overcame the technical challenges we encountered but also ensured the continued safe operation of our flights”.
