Liebherr at the GaLaBau 2014 trade fair

  • Compact loaders and stereo loaders with diesel engines that comply with emissions standard stage IIIB / Tier 4i for the first time
  • Compact crawler excavators and wheeled excavators for use in horticulture and landscaping

At the GaLaBau 2014, the specialist trade fair in Nürnberg (Germany), Liebherr is presenting its latest range of compact machines from Liebherr's extensive programme of earthmoving equipment, a concept predestined for use in horticulture and landscaping. At the Liebherr stand in hall 7, no. 424, two compact wheel loaders and also a crawler excavator and wheeled excavator will be on show.

World premiere of compact loaders and stereo loaders with stage IIIB- engines

For the first time, Liebherr is presenting its compact loaders and stereo loaders with emissions standard stage IIIB / Tier 4i at the GaLaBau 2014 trade fair, having already introduced the large and medium-sized wheel loaders of the new generation stage IIIB / Tier 4i at the Bauma 2013 trade fair. Representative for these machine sizes, Liebherr is presenting its compact loader L 506 and also its stereo loader L 509 Speeder in Nürnberg (Germany).

The new generation of diesel engines is now even more environmentally-friendly and there have been many other improvements, too. The precision common rail fuel injection optimises the combustion process and, in combination with a diesel particulate filter, reduces the emission of harmful substances.

The wheel loader L 506 Compact on show weighs 5,490 kg. The machine is equipped with a 0.7 m³ 4-in-1 bucket and has a tipping load of 3,100 kg. It is powered by a diesel engine with a performance of 46 kW / 63 HP.

The stereo loader L 509 Speeder displayed at the GaLaBau trade fair weighs 6,390 kg and has a tipping load of 4,430 kg. It features a fork carrier with prongs. Equipped with a 4-cylinder diesel engine, the stereo loader returns 54 kW / 73 HP of power. The Speeder version of the stereo loader has a maximum speed of 30 km/h and as such is suitable for deployment where long distances have to be covered.

Crawler excavator R 914 Compact with tilt bucket

With the R 914 Compact, Liebherr is presenting a crawler excavator at the GaLaBau 2014 trade fair as a supplement to the compact crawler excavator programme. The design of this 15 tonnes machine is based on the same concept as the A 914 Compact and A 918 Compact wheeled excavators that have already achieved market success.

With its 80 kW (109 HP) Deutz diesel engine, the R 914 Compact complies with the stage IIIB exhaust emission limits without the need for a diesel particulate filter. The maintenance-free oxidation catalyst not only reduces emissions but keeps operating costs low as well. A particulate filter is available ex-factory as an option. This engine makes efficient use of fuel and develops ample torque. Its maximum power output is reached at a low engine speed. This helps to preserve component service life with no loss in performance.

The compact dimensions of the R 914 C enable a rear swing radius of just 1,550 mm. Thanks to its high grabbing force and general performance level, this is the ideal machine for landscaping, road works, drainage and all construction site work that has to be carried out within a limited space.

Mobile excavator A 910 Compact with backhoe bucket

With the A 910 Compact, Liebherr is presenting an additional model in its compact wheeled excavator series at the GaLaBau 2014 trade fair. Design features and the attractive appearance of this new 11.5 tonnes machine continue the concept introduced with the A 914 Compact and A 918 Compact Litronic, models that have already achieved market success.

With a rear swing radius of just 1,600 mm, the A 910 Compact is the ideal machine for horticulture and landscaping or for deployment in built-up areas. Thanks to its powerful engine and tough design, the new wheeled excavator has plenty of power in reserve to cope with conventional earth moving tasks as well without trouble.

The 75 kW (102 HP) Deutz diesel engine in the A 910 Compact complies with stage IIIB exhaust emission limits without the need for a diesel particulate filter. The oxidation catalyst, which needs no routine maintenance, reduces emissions and keeps operating costs low. A particulate filter is available ex-factory as an option.

The power unit impresses with high fuel efficiency, long service life and a great amount of torque. The engine’s maximum power output is reached at low speed, which means that component loads are kept low despite the engine’s high performance.
