First mobile crane in the fleet: Stützle-Späth takes delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2

  • Stützle-Späth expands its rental fleet with its first mobile crane
  • The LTM 1110-5.2 is one of the first Liebherr cranes with the new LICCON3 control system
  • Managing Director Torsten Späth completed his training at Liebherr

Stützle-Späth GmbH & Co KG has purchased its first mobile crane. An LTM 1110-5.2 now lines up alongside dozens of work platforms, forklifts and loading cranes in its fleet. This model is one of the first Liebherr 110-tonne cranes equipped with the LICCON3 crane control system, redesigned cabs and new paintwork.

Stützle-Späth GmbH & Co KG, a leading company in the fields of work platforms, forklifts, loader cranes, traffic safety and mobile road construction, celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. With around 65 dedicated employees, the company has established a firm foothold in a wide range of sectors.

The latest addition to its fleet marks a milestone for the company based in Schelklingen in Upper Swabia. Managing Director Torsten Späth explains: "We made the decision to buy our first mobile crane in order to offer our customers a comprehensive service. The ultra-modern Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane marks the beginning of a new era for our company."

The LTM 1110-5.2 was chosen for its outstanding performance metrics, including an impressive 60-metre telescopic boom and the advanced LICCON3 control system. The 110-tonne mobile crane boasts numerous innovative features, including a hydraulically adjustable double folding jib, telescopic boom extension and the VarioBase®Plus variable support base for higher lifting capacities. The Autoballast system enables automatic ballasting at the touch of a button, while the DynamicPerform clutch module on the ZF TraXon transmission enables wear-free manoeuvring.

High mobility and short set-up times

The lightweight construction of the LTM 1110-5.2 together with the ballast quick-change system enable axle loads of less than ten tonnes within a very short time. "The new mobile crane offers a wide range of applications without the need for complex individual driving permits and with minimal set-up times. Its technical features such as the variable support base, the new control system and the impressive load capacity values, even with minimal ballast, convinced us," says Späth. "Added to this is our close affinity to Liebherr. Our company is only ten kilometres away from their crane production site. Service and spare parts supply are therefore very close to us. I actually did my apprenticeship at Liebherr. It's now a special feeling to buy a crane from my former training company."
