28th Liebherr in 29 years: Ullrich Krane adds an LTM 1250-5.1 to its fleet
- 5-axle crane replaces 6-axle machine in the same load class
- Optimised application options thanks to VarioBallast®
- Largest mobile crane in the Ullrich fleet completes its first job at a biomass power plant
Ullrich Krane GmbH has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane. The 250-tonne machine replaces a 6-axle LTM 1250-6.1 that has served the company faithfully for nine years. The new 5-axle crane is the 28th crane that the Chemnitz-based company has bought from Liebherr during its 29 year history. The crane rental company has almost exclusively operated Liebherr mobile cranes since it opened for business.
“We have had very good experiences with our previous 250-tonne Liebherr crane in the past. The LTM 1250-5.1 is the latest crane version in this class and fits perfectly into our fleet,” says Holger Ludewig, managing partner at Ullrich Krane. The new arrival completed its first assignment only two days after leaving the Liebherr factory in Ehingen – it was tasked with assembling plant and boiler components in a biomass power plant in Annaberg-Buchholz.
“Our cranes are used in the greater Saxony area, primarily in the construction and assembly of precast concrete parts as well as in bridge construction and in the energy sector. The LTM 1250-5.1 is the largest crane we operate in our fleet,” says Ludewig. With its VarioBallast®, the 5-axle Liebherr crane offers maximum lifting capacities with a large ballast radius and is optimised for use on narrow construction sites with a small ballast radius. VarioBase®, ECOmode and ECOdrive technologies make the LTM 1250-5.1 particularly safe and efficient.
A reliable partnership since day one
Since Ullrich Krane was founded, the Chemnitz-based company has had Liebherr machines in its fleet. “After almost 30 years, we feel very well looked after as a customer. As a relatively small 13-strong operation, we need to be able to rely on good customer service to stay strong in the market. Whether in sales or customer service, our dialogue with Liebherr is always focused on finding solutions and we are treated as equal partners,” reports Michael Ullrich, who, as the company’s founder, handed over the reins to his employee Holger Ludewig in 2022 and now works for the company as a consultant and authorised signatory. “We appreciate the fast availability of local fitters and the fact that we’ve been working with the same contacts for many years,” Ludewig adds.
Ullrich Krane GmbH was founded in 1994 and took delivery of four Liebherr mobile cranes in its very first year. With 24 additional Liebherr cranes, its fleet has been kept up to date with the latest mobile crane technology ever since. Currently, the crane rental company operates six mobile cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 30 to 250 tonnes, two loading crane vehicles, a CWE525 crawler crane on a loader crane chassis as well as four towing vehicles with low-loaders.
