  • Reliable Liebherr service in Hungary was an important factor for Ács-Gép
  • Liebherr mobile cranes an attractive proposition with long telescopic booms

The Hungarian crane market has recently expanded by three Liebherr mobile cranes with a total load capacity of 1,000 tonnes. Ács-Gép Holding invested in an LTM 1200-5.1, an LTM 1300-6.2 and an LTM 1500-8.1. Reliable, experienced local Liebherr service provides Ács-Gép with security for its practical crane operations. At the same time the company rates Liebherr cranes as very reliable and progressive. Ács-Gép has acquired the very latest mobile crane technology in the form of the LTM 1300-6.2. The LTM 1500-8.1 is now the largest Liebherr mobile crane in Hungary.

The main business of Ács-Gép Holding, based in Budapest, is renting tower cranes. Its fleet comprises over 200 tower cranes, around half of which have been manufactured by Liebherr. The second business unit in the family-run company is renting mobile cranes and it operates a fleet of around 30 cranes. The business of renting tower cranes also provides business for the mobile cranes since five or six times every week a tower crane has to be erected or dismantled. When purchasing its new mobile cranes for this application, Ács-Gép therefore attached a great deal of value to ensuring they had long booms and added an LTM 1200-5.1 with a 72-metre telescopic boom and an LTM 1300-6.2 with a 78-metre telescopic boom to its fleet. "The new Liebherr cranes will enable us to erect and dismantle tower cranes effectively and very quickly at great heights. In addition, the LTM 1300-6.2 features the very latest technology. The single-engine concept and VarioBase® are very advanced", said László Ács, Managing Director of Ács-Gép. He also stressed the manoeuvrable and compact design of the six-axle crane, which means that it can use the roads of Budapest and move around small building sites.

In addition to erecting tower cranes, the LTM 1500-8.1 will also take on a range of heavy duty jobs. These include, for example, the construction of motorway bridges, renovation work in power plants and refineries, applications in wind power and boiler and turbine loading work at the ports on the River Danube. The new 500-tonne crane will replace an LTM 1400-7.1 – a machine with which Ács-Gép was extremely satisfied as a result of its reliability and versatility. The high demand in the market for a mobile crane with more load capacity was the instigator for the company deciding to invest in the 500-tonne Liebherr crane. It is now the largest Liebherr mobile crane in Hungary and has firmly established itself as a best-seller all over the world due to its renown for reliability. László Ács is convinced: "It is not by chance that Liebherr has managed to sell so many of these machines around the world. The crane's technology is sophisticated and reliable". It was also important to Ács-Gép Holding that the boom on the LTM 1500-8.1 can be dismantled and erected with relative ease.

The financing of the three new cranes was taken over by Deutsche Leasing Hungaria, with which Ács-Gép cooperates since many years. The financing company supported very flexibly and extremely competent.

Hungarian company Ács-Gép currently has a workforce of 120 people. It not only operates its cranes in Hungary but also in neighbouring Central and Eastern European countries. To continue to enhance its international presence, Ács-Gép Holding has formed subsidiaries in Russia and Azerbaijan.

Managing Director László Ács and Financial Director Gábor Gévai paid a visit to the Liebherr plant in Ehingen to take delivery of the cranes. The long partnership between the two companies is remarkable. The same partners sat around the table twenty years before purchasing their first Liebherr mobile crane. Mutual trust and security are the fruits of this partnership. Also at the event was the Liebherr agent based in Budapest, Pointed Kft. Pointed has been Liebherr's official sales and service partner for 30 years. The company provides reliable service and support for crane operators on a 24/7 basis.
