Young talent counts!

On the fourth day of Bauma, Michael Piazolo, the Bavarian Minister of State for Education and Culture, visited the Liebherr education stand and shared his views with our trainees on such topics as vocational training and studies. His clear message: Young talent counts!

To find out first hand what it is that moves the young professionals of tomorrow, the Bavarian State Minister for Education and Culture, Michael Piazolo, came to the Liebherr training stand at Bauma on April 11, 2019. In discussions with the trainees on site, he listened carefully, including when the miniature excavator challenge was explained in detail. According to Piazolo, the promotion of young talent is currently the absolute focus of the Minister of State because the shortage of skilled workers is being felt in every corner of the economy. This was also confirmed by his discussion partner, Mario Trunzer, CFO at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH, who said: "For us, it is particularly important to again invest more in traditional vocational training since this will enable us to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. We are now already training our own specialists of tomorrow. "

Michael Piazolo was visibly impressed was by the various events that took place at the stand: In the miniature excavator challenge, he competed against CEO Mario Trunzer in a live duel and won. However, it was only with the help of a trainee in the stand. Regarding the duel, trainee Simon commented: "It's really fun if you can show the grown-ups how things are done right and how everything works."

Michael Piazolo said goodbye after an open discussion on the stage of the Workshop Live! event in the middle of the ICM Foyer.

In Germany alone, the Liebherr Group offers a total of 23 different trainee positions. Dual study programs are possible at Liebherr in 24 different commercial or technical study programs.
