Liebherr to supply HVAC systems for Wuhan Metro

Zhejiang Liebherr Zhongche Transportation Systems Co., Ltd. has been recently selected by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. to supply heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) for the rolling stock of Line 2 Option of Wuhan Metro. A total of 144 units will be delivered for twelve six-car trains, which amounts to two HVAC systems per car.

The ML2 is an elevated and underground urban metro system operated by Wuhan Metro Co., Ltd. in the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province. It was the first underground metro line in China to cross the Yangtze River.

The HVAC system by Zhejiang Liebherr Zhongche Transportation Systems Co., Ltd. consists of two independent sets for cab and saloon. They have been especially designed according to the technical specification and related standard of the vehicles of Wuhan Metro. They regulate the interior temperature and humidity in the car, providing a comfortable riding environment for the passengers and driver.

The saloon set consists of two roof-mounted packaged saloon units, supplying and returning air according to the passengers’ needs. The driver’s cab set is a ventilation unit. Each car is equipped with a controller to monitor and control the operation status. An emergency inverter provides fresh air even in case of failure of the regular supply net.

Being selected to supply air conditioning systems for the Wuhan Metro is a significant achievement for Zhejiang Liebherr Zhongche Transportation Systems Co., Ltd. and demonstrates the market’s confidence in Liebherr products.
