Liebherr-Africa hosts Customer day 2018 in South Africa

At the Customer Day, Liebherr-Africa unveiled and launched the new Liebherr T236 mining truck into the African market. The T236 mining truck, with a 100 ton payload capacity, is designed to meet the most challenging operating environments, typically found in Africa. On the day of the launch, the company secured its first order for this new truck, which is destined for an iron ore mine in the Northern Cape.

Also launched at the event was the LRT 1090-2.1 rough terrain mobile crane. This is a welcome addition to the Liebherr mobile crane portfolio. Having been specifically designed with safety in mind, the 90 ton capacity LRT 1090-2.1 crane features an outrigger monitoring system as standard, while the VarioBase variable base developed by Liebherr also comes standard as another means of enhancing safety. In addition, the LRT 1090-2.1 features a 47m hydro-mechanical telescoping boom system with rope pull technology, enabling the boom to be extended to the required length quickly and easily in order to provide a hook height of 66m within a radius of 2.5m.

Moreover, Liebherr-Africa performed several handovers to customers who had recently purchased new machines. Amongst the new machines were mobile cranes, crawler and mining excavators as well as a tower crane.
