Laying of foundation stone for the new Liebherr-Aerospace production building at Campsas

March 19, 2024, marked a significant milestone for Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse with the laying of the foundation stone for the new production building at its Campsas site in the Tarn-et-Garonne region (France) where high-precision mechanical parts are being machined. These include turbine wheels, compressors, and high-temperature valve bodies, integrated into bleed air systems and air conditioning systems.

Mr. Philipp Liebherr, member of the Liebherr Group's Board of Directors, and Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse's General Management welcomed Mr. Vincent Roberti, Prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne, Mrs. Marie Castro, Vice-President of the Occitanie Region, in charge of vocational training, and Mrs. Marie-Claude Nègre, Mayor of Campsas.

The occasion provided an opportunity to present Liebherr-Aerospace's low-energy building project, which will be dedicated to the production of heat transfer equipment, key components of aircraft air-conditioning systems, currently produced at the Toulouse site.

The eco-responsible building will also be the company's "industry of the future" showcase, featuring state-of-the-art production technologies and industrial processes.

"We are delighted to celebrate today a major milestone in the construction of our future production building at our Campsas site. With an investment of € 40 million, we are confirming our presence in Campsas in the Occitanie region, and our determination to continue developing our expertise in France. With this new building, we are reinforcing Liebherr-Aerospace's industrial capacity to support the growth of our strategic activities and conquer new markets," explained Mathieu Tournier, Managing Director of Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse.

Construction of the building began in September 2023, with handover scheduled for summer 2025 to allow for the gradual installation of manufacturing processes. The Campsas site will eventually employ 400 people.

In Toulouse, the surface area freed up by the relocation of the heat transfer equipment production activity will enable a significant increase in industrial capacity for the assembly and maintenance of other equipment destined for aerospace air management systems.
