Repair WelderHouston, TX
Perform product improvement welding updates on steel structures for all terrain and crawler cranes and other components of Liebherr Ehingen products all over the United States. Fit, weld and repair steel structures and machine components on above mentioned machines. Working with highly sensitive high strength steel. Organize jobsites to perform repairs and / or modifications on his/ her own. Fit, weld and build steel fabrications as needed for and around the Houston workshop.
Responsibilities
- Completes successfully all required weld tests.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
- Responsible for welding supply, consumables, tools and equipment.
- Responsible for storage tubes, plates and lacings for stock and projects.
- Responsible for the welding area and cleanliness.
- Lays-out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
- Performs repairs as per given welding procedure.
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Handles and disposes of hazardous materials.
- Preparing for travelling to jobsites (Material, travel organization, etc…).
- Documentation of performed work (Work Report, Hour Report, Expense Report, Timesheet).
Competencies
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). And one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AWS welding certification required. Minimum of D1.1 weld certification in vertical up and / or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Assist the Company in any necessary duties to achieve Company goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in PC based word processing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to multi-task while completing work in a competent and professional manner.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport.
- Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends or on call duty.
- TWIC card required or must be able to obtain within 6 months of starting position.
