Soil Mixing
For wet soil mixing the mixing tools rotate around the vertical axis of the mixing shaft. The tools break up the soil matrix and mix the suspension with the soil. The binding agents used are usually cement types mixed to a suspension by adding water.
Procedure for 1-fold soil mixing
1. Positioning of mixing tool
2. Drilling down the mixing tool while injecting suspension
3. Mixing of the soil down to final depth
4. Extraction of the mixing tool and further thorough mixing while injecting suspension
5. Completed soil mixing column
Procedure for 3-fold soil mixing
1. Positioning at the mixing point
2. Drilling down the mixing tool while injecting suspension
3. After reaching the final depth, further thorough mixing and start of extraction
4. Extraction of the mixing tool and further thorough mixing while injecting suspension
5. Completed soil mixing element
Wet mixing with single mixing tool
For wet soil mixing the individual soil-mix elements are often executed in specific grid patterns, such as for stabilisation columns under shallow foundations in road construction.
Mixing drives as modular system
The mixing drives for uncased wet mixing can be modularly combined with each other. Very frequently multiple mixing tools are used. Thus, panel shaped reinforced ground structures are produced.
Mixing tool for uncased wet mixing
The mixing tool consists of a hollow drilling linkage fitted with blades, knives or paddles at its lower end.
Introducing the suspension in the ground
The binding agent suspension is pressed into the soil through nozzles situated in the lower area of the mixing tool.
Producing a homogeneous soil mix column
The soil is further mixed during extraction of the mixing tool and further binding agent is injected.
