Vibrocompaction

Deep compaction

For vibro-flotation non-cohesive soil is compacted using a vibroflot. The vibroflot is mounted on the lower end of a pipe on a lift crane, duty cycle crawler crane or rig, either free hanging on ropes or via a leader and sunk into the ground. Through the vibration the soil grains change from their initial loose layering to a denser layering. Around the vibrator a cylindrical compacted soil structure is created.

Procedure for vibro-compaction

1. Positioning the vibroflot at the compaction point

2. Penetration of the vibroflot while adding nose jet water, thus pre-compaction of the soil

3. After completion, laying of a levelling layer to transfer load at the surface

4. After reaching the final depth, switching off the nose jet water, adding side jet water and starting vibro-compaction

5. During extraction, staged compaction of the soil while adding fill material from above into the sink crater

Foundation concept

Reinforced cylindrical ground structures are created at the compaction points. These are arranged in various grid patterns and so a systematic compaction of the building ground is achieved.
