“New scales for restricted jobsites”

At Bauma, Liebherr officially handed over the first LRB 19 to Kurt Motz Baubetriebsgesellschaft. The compact piling and drilling rig is one of seven machines with which the company has continually expanded its fleet over recent months. The construction profis have enjoyed a trusting partnership with Liebherr for decades.

One LB 25, two LB 30s, two LB 35s and one LB 45: these Liebherr drilling rigs have recently boosted the fleet of Kurt Motz Baubetriebsgesellschaft. The new piling and drilling rig is the perfect addition to the machine portfolio. “The LRB 19 sets new standards for small, tight construction sites – a real powerhouse in a compact form,” says Georg Busse, Managing Director of Deep Foundation at Kurt Motz.

The new Bauma exhibit scores with a powerful 450 kW diesel engine, the BAT 180.1 rotary drive with a maximum torque of 180 kNm as well as a low transport weight of 48.2 tonnes including 8 tonnes of counterweight and auxiliary winch. The compact design enables transport in one piece with the vibrator attached to the machine, which means that even at short notice permits for construction site transport in confined spaces can be obtained – a major advantage in this machine class. The machine operator’s day-to-day work is simplified considerably thanks to the uniform machine control. Whether a large drilling rig such as the LB 45, a compact LB 20 or LRB series – operators always have a standardised control experience, which makes handling and changing machines within the fleet easy and efficient. “The reliability of Liebherr machines is a decisive factor for our success and our long-term cooperation,” says Mr Georg Busse.

The LRB 19 can be used for a wide range of applications in deep foundation work: for piling or vibrating applications, the all-rounder is equipped with the H 6 hammer or the LV 23 and LV 23 F vibrators, all from Liebherr. Drilling with Kelly equipment, double drilling head, full displacement equipment and continuous flight auger or soil mixing are further areas of application. The name LRB 19 reflects the maximum travel distance of the sledge: 19 metres. Kurt Motz will use the machine to install sheet piling on its first jobsite.
