Liebherr compressor warranty terms
Liebherr-Export AG (Liebherr) grants the owner of this Liebherr refrigerator and/or freezer for private use (the appliance) a warranty in accordance with the following terms and conditions (Liebherr compressor warranty). This Liebherr compressor warranty applies in addition to the purchaser’s statutory rights vis-á-vis the seller of the appliance in the event of defects; it does not limit these rights, which the purchaser may assert free of charge.
I. Territory
The Liebherr compressor guarantee applies to Liebherr refrigerators and/or freezers for private use installed in Portugal. Appliances for commercial use are excluded from the Liebherr compressor guarantee.
II. Warrantor
The warrantor is Liebherr Export AG, General-Guisan-Strasse 14, 5415 Nussbaumen AG, Switzerland.
III. Duration and start of the Liebherr compressor warranty
- The Liebherr compressor warranty is granted for a period of 10 years (warranty period).
- The warranty period begins with the handover of the appliance to the purchaser who bought the appliance for its initial commissioning.
- Any work or service performed under the Liebherr compressor warranty neither renews nor extends the warranty period.
IV. Requirements of the Liebherr compressor warranty
Liebherr only grants the Liebherr compressor warranty if the following requirements are demonstrably met:
- The appliance was purchased for the first time from Liebherr or from a commercial vendor authorised by Liebherr in the territory of the Liebherr compressor warranty.
- The appliance is situated in the territory of the Liebherr compressor warranty.
- The appliance is used exclusively for private purposes.
- The Liebherr customer service staff are shown the Liebherr compressor warranty certificate and proof of purchase for the appliance.
- The appliance was correctly registered with Liebherr within two years of purchase.
- The Liebherr compressor warranty is not transferable to another appliance.
V. Scope and content of the Liebherr compressor warranty
- If during the warranty period defects arise on the compressor that are demonstrably caused by material or manufacturing faults, Liebherr customer service or the authorised Liebherr customer service contractor will provide a suitable new compressor free of charge and bear the associated costs, in particular travel expenses and working time for removing and installing the compressor, as well as any other repair material required.
- The Liebherr compressor warranty grants no other claims against Liebherr beyond this removal of defects.
- During the period of the Liebherr warranty and Liebherr WarrantyPlus (if applicable), only the terms of the Liebherr warranty and Liebherr WarrantyPlus (if applicable) apply.
VI. Exclusion and invalidation of the Liebherr compressor warranty
The Liebherr compressor warranty excludes faults or defects on the compressor that are caused by:
- Failure to observe the assembly or user instructions, incorrect installation or connection, improper use, unsuitable operation, overloading, wear and tear.
- External effects such as damage in transit, damage caused by impact or shock, damage caused by weather or other natural phenomena.
- Repairs and modifications that were not carried out by Liebherr customer service or an authorised Liebherr customer service contractor.
The Liebherr compressor warranty is invalidated if anyone removes, alters or renders illegible the type plate or appliance number or if parts of a different origin are installed in the appliance.
VII. Limitation period
Claims under the Liebherr compressor warranty due to a defect within the warranty period must be made within 6 months. The limitation period begins when the defect is discovered.
