Liebherr: Vinidor Selection takes home an iF Design Award 2024

The iF Design Award is a globally coveted design label that has been awarded for 70 years. With around 10,800 entries from 72 countries, the award emphasises the global relevance of design and aesthetics. The judges evaluate the entries based on five criteria: differentiation, form, function, idea and impact.

“The primary task of Liebherr wine tempering fridges is to perfectly protect the quality of our customers’ wines. But we also believe that fine wines should be appropriately presented. This is why we work exclusively with the highest-quality materials, such as stainless steel or beechwood, and endeavour to create a stylish ambience with our lighting solutions,” explains Steffen Nagel, Managing Director Sales & Marketing, Liebherr-Hausgeräte GmbH. “We are very pleased that the aesthetic and functional overall concept of the Vinidor Selection series impressed the iF Design Award judges.”

Optimum wine storage with individually adjustable temperature zones

Vinidor Selection makes it possible for wine lovers to always enjoy their wines at the optimum temperature. The two or three temperature zones – depending on the customer’s choice – can be set independently and precisely adjusted from +5 °C to +20 °C. This allows different types of wine such as full-bodied red wines, fruity white wines and sparkling champagne to be stored at the same time, each at their ideal drinking temperature. The equipment leaves nothing to be desired: The VibrateSafe function, for example, guarantees vibration-damped storage, while FreshAir filters in the zone separator don’t just ensure the air stays pure, they also remind users when it’s time for them to be replaced.

Energy efficiency and an attractive design

Vinidor Selection appliances are among the most energy efficient of their class. Unlike most wine tempering fridges, which fall into energy efficiency class G, the new Liebherr wine tempering fridges with glass doors are in energy efficiency class F, while those with a solid door are in the even more efficient class E.

Their aesthetic appearance with elegant GlassBlack door makes Vinidor Selection models a feast for the eyes. All models in the series are available with a matching BlackSteel look in the interior. One highlight – in the truest sense of the word – is the LightTower, which positions the interior lighting and the dimmable presentation light on the sides of the appliance for spectacular presentation of wines during a cosy dinner party. The vertical, continuous and extremely ergonomic recessed grip rounds off the look. On request, a slimline door handle with integrated mechanism is available for easy opening.

Intuitive operability and maximum security

The wines are stored on robust, wooden racks that can be flexibly adapted to different bottle formats. The SommelierBoard made of untreated beech, which can be found in the top model of the Vinidor Selection series, offers space for effective presentation and decanting. The Touch & Swipe function, which is completely integrated into the glass door, makes it easy to adjust the temperature or other storage conditions without having to open the door. And, because the contents of our customers’ wine fridges are often of considerable value, an eDoorLock with PIN and the SmartDevice app for remote monitoring offer additional security.

The Vinidor Selection series is available in versions between 145 and 200 cm in height or between 60 and 70 cm in width as of October 2024.
