Auger filling level display for Kelly drilling tools

During Kelly drilling the soil is conveyed by simultaneous drilling cycles. The drilling tools, (e.g. auger or drilling bucket) are generally relatively short. Optimum filling is, therefore, essential for quick drilling progress. As this process is not visible for the operator, we offer graphic support.

Optimum filling level

The control system knows the length of the drilling tool. Based on the rotations of the auger or the drilling bucket the system determines the filling progress and informs the operator when the drilling tool is optimally filled.

  • Overwinding and therefore compacting or clogging of the drilling cuttings is therefore prevented.
  • This ensures that the amount of soil removed is sufficient, so reducing the number of necessary drilling cycles.

Viewing on the monitor

The operator can observe the filling level of the drilling tool from the cabin. It is clearly visible on the monitor when the auger is optimally filled.

This enables efficient drilling progress.
