Your Liebherr gives you a free hand
Thanks to AutoDoor, you can open your automatic fridge with a knocking signal or voice command. And if need be, you can also open and close it just as easily by hand or with your smartphone. This makes it easier to open large, heavy doors.
You can select the opening angle and the duration until closing individually.
Control by voice command
A prompt to Amazon Alexa is all you need to open the fridge completely hands-free. This keeps the handle and front of the appliance clean, even when your (or someone else’s) hands are sticky.
The appliance and voice assistant must be connected to the SmartDevice app.
Control by knocking signal
Knocking twice on the door will automatically open your fridge or freezer. You can knock anywhere on the interior or exterior of the door. Incidentally: If your hands are full you, you can also use your foot.
Control by smartphone
The door can also be automatically opened and closed with the SmartDevice app. As well as this, further AutoDoor features can be set: The duration until the door is closed or to which angle the door should be opened (at least 70°).

To use AutoDoor, install the appliance as follows:
- Switch on the appliance and select the language on the display.
- On the display, activate the AutoDoor function via the AutoDoor setup.
- The opening angle of the door must be set after activation. It should be set to at least 70°. Tap the display to confirm.
- After confirming the prompt in the display to store the door opening position, a “calibration opening” is carried out.
- If setup is successful, the display will change to blue for 2 seconds and a confirmation tone sounds. The following notification in the display must then be confirmed.
The setup is now complete; you have an automatic fridge now.
It can be operated using a knocking signal after setup. Knock twice to open or close the door. You can knock anywhere on the interior or exterior of the door.
The appliance must be connected to the SmartDevice app and set up in there with a voice assistant of your choice. The app contains step-by-step instructions. The door can then be opened or closed via a command.
All smart speakers, which have integrated Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
If there is no power supply, the door can still be opened and closed manually.
Automatic opening/closing via voice command, the SmartDevice app and knocking is not available when there is a power failure.
The default factory setting for automatically closing the door is 30 seconds. There is an audible and visual notification 10 seconds before closing. Simply tap the display if you wish the door to remain open for longer. You can set the automatic closing time via the display or the SmartDevice app: You can choose from 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes, or 5 minutes.
The selected door opening angle is too small. The set door opening angle must be at least 70° to store the position.
The sensor has not been set to the correct sensitivity. The sensor sensitivity is set to “middle” at the factory. It can be adjusted via the knocking sensor on the hinge side of the narrow side of the door. You can find the details in the installation instructions.
AutoDoor appliances have obstacle detection. The door stops as soon as it meets an obstacle and a warning is shown on the display. Tap the display once the obstacle has been removed and the door will close automatically.
Don’t place your hand in the closing range of a moving door. There is a risk of damaging the hinges, which could restrict the function of the AutoDoor.
Drawers should also be fully pushed in so they are not struck and damaged during automatic closing.
The appliance was opened and closed too often in a short period. This can create a vacuum and the system must cool down before the function is available again. The door can be opened and closed at any time manually.
No, the door hinges of an AutoDoor appliance can only be changed by a service technician. So please make sure that you select the correct stop when purchasing.
