Liebherr delivers first 620 HC-L luffing jib cranes to Bennetts

With the investment in three Liebherr 620 HC-L cranes, Bennetts Cranes is expanding its fleet with powerful, compact and efficient luffing jib cranes. The British crane rental company is the first customer worldwide to put this new model into operation. The purchase agreement was signed at Bauma and marks a significant milestone for Bennetts Cranes and Liebherr.

Largest witches’ broom in the world: Liebherr tower crane lifts steel components for regional attraction ‘Harzer Hexenreich’

The highest viewing tower in the Harz Mountains, described as “the world’s largest witches’ broom”, has been erected in picturesque Rothesütte, not far from the Lower Saxony border. A Liebherr 340 EC-B 16 tower crane, with an impressive hook height of 57.5 metres and a 40-metre radius, was used for the challenging lifting work on site.

The intelligent assistance system Positioning Pilot enables the crane operator to semi-automatically access several stored hook positions without sway and travel individually mapped routes. Safety on site is also increased through the semi-automatic driving of predefined distances. The crane operator is freed from repetitive, monotonous lifting tasks with help from this assistant. In addition, Liebherr's assistant system is currently one of few products still under consideration for the Innovation Award at bauma, the leading trade fair in the construction industry.
