Liebherr Aerospace Toulouse
Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS
The air management system is among the most important contributors to the comfort on board an aircraft.
Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS has complete capability to develop, supply and service all aircraft and engine air systems: from the engine bleed air ports and engine pneumatics to the air distribution in the cabin and from the wing ice protection system to the cabin pressurization. The systems are supplied for all kinds of platforms like commercial aircraft, regional aircraft, business jets, helicopters, UAV’s, fighters or military transport airlifters.
Moreover, the company is also active in the field of fuel cell technology and thermal management systems for space applications.

Innovative air management systems
Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS develops, supplies and services innovative air management systems for the aerospace industry. The company can look back over 60 years of experience in aeronautical engineering and is represented in Southern France today at two locations: The headquarters are in Toulouse. Parts of the production are externalized to the Campsas location 50 kilometers away.
New research and test center
Research and development are key to continuous innovation. In 2011, new air system testing facilities were opened in Toulouse. The test center is a powerful research and development tool, equipped with state-of-the-art vibration test rigs, a noise optimization anechoic chamber and altitude chambers of various sizes. Here, air management test rigs allow to perform elaborate tests of complete aircraft air systems, including systems on board of future more electric aircrafts.
In addition, a high-power hydrogen test bench is connected to the electrical system test rig since mid-2021. This essential infrastructure will support the development of fuel cell based power generation systems for "heavy" mobility applications.
Partner to aviation research
Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS is an active partner to the Clean Sky 2 aviation research program. The project aims to further reduce the effects of aviation on the environment and to increase Europe's global competitiveness. Some innovative concepts as electrical-driven air conditioning system are developed to pave the way for a greener aviation. The program will run up to 2024 and contains various research and development projects that will benefit the next generation of aircraft.
