The employee will be employed as a Project Engineer within the Project Management Department and will report directly to the Project Managers. The employee will be assigned to various crane projects as they arise within the company. The position requires that from time-to-time business travel within Ireland and overseas be undertaken, the duration and location being defined by the nature of the project.  This is a project engineering position, which will involve training/shadowing in the area of project engineering/project management, and also specific training in relation to our products.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist and support the projects department in all aspects of its work to deliver crane and crane related projects throughout the world.
  • Act as the main point of contact with clients and their representatives in order to progress projects in a timely manner.
  • Analyse client contract requirements ensuring understanding within the Project team, and liaise with the Design and Sales departments to clarify contract technical specifications.
  • Attending project meetings as required ensuring accurate recording of meeting minutes.
  • Project control administration and updating of project schedules as necessary.
  • Assist the installation project manager with the preparation of crane installation and service projects in respect of labour and equipment.
  • Assisting site personnel in preparing for site installation projects.
  • Liaise with appointed installation subcontractors and LCC Site Personnel regarding contract and installation requirements.
  • Liaising with other departments including Design, on-site technical support engineers, commissioning, production, etc. to ensure the project runs in accordance with the schedule.
  • Project scheduling from contract signing to final crane handover.
  • Liaising directly with 3rd party inspectors in relation to all aspects of the crane design, manufacturing and onsite installation.
  • Assisting the project team with the preparation of documentation and files.
  • Planning, scheduling, and agreeing project time frames and deadlines with customers, including technical conditions for such agreements.
  • Follow up on crane installation works with particular emphasis on costings and control of progress to meet scheduled dates.
  • Liaise directly with customer on site related matters or in relation to any other matters as required, at all times maintaining a positive client experience.
  • Liaise with customers and employees on site to review progress continuously and to ensure deadlines and key dates are met.
  • Provide technical advice and liaise with production departments and design department as necessary regarding issues on site.
  • Record on the various systems details of issues as they arise on site, including root cause analysis.  Implement corrective measures to ensure a recurrence doesn’t occur.
  • Closing of all punch list items, in conjunction with site supervisors, design engineers and project engineers.
  • Any and all other activities that are requested and within the capabilities of and appropriate to the role.

Requirements / Competencies

  • A suitable qualification, or trade, in a relevant discipline or suitable experience (Engineering is preferred)
  • Self-motivated with management capabilities.
  • Manufacturing background is desirable.
  • Proven track record of working with various stakeholders to coordinate, plan, execute, and track projects.
  • Ability to take the initiative and personal responsibility.
  • Service minded, customer focused and team player with strong leadership skills.
  • Microsoft Office Experience across Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English.
