MRO Operations Manager (Aerospace)Singapore
The primary focus of this position is to lead and manage the MRO operations (Pt 145), within the LSI Aerospace division. This position will provide key leadership and accountability for MRO operations and the overall performance of each employee of the department. As a key part of the management team, the MRO Operations Manager will be active in the definition, development and execution of operational policies, top performance, sustained growth and development of MRO activities for Liebherr products and services.
The position holder will be the key focal point for resolution of issues related to MRO operations beyond daily routine; as well as for the development of solutions according to (internal & external) customer requirements. Maintaining and improving overall performance, cost-effective operations and profitability will be the driving factors. This role requires management of requirements, processes, departments and employees, and establishment of solutions and activities to achieve results, based on goals and objectives directed by senior management of the Aerospace division.
What You Can Expect of the Job
- You’ll develop, assist & direct assigned managers to effectively lead department employees in achieving goals and objectives. Establish, maintain and improve operations and performance in line with company targets, and operational expectations to meet customer satisfaction goals.
- You’ll always maintain a safety conscious working environment, to meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards relative to Aerospace MRO operations.
- You’ll develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. LEAN) to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency of LSI MRO operations.
- You’ll implement and operate, in collaboration with other stakeholders (e.g. LSI finance controlling, sales, customer service, GM) tools and methodologies for management of relevant KPI, such as costs, efficiency, performance.
- You’ll develop and implement strategy, programs and initiatives to manage and improve employees’ attendance, knowledge, productivity, working skill sets, performance and retention, e.g. through developmental programs, and training.
- You’ll take a leading role in planning of budget, staff/skill development and related reviews, make recommendations relative to respective operations.
- You’ll oversee the facilities’ heavy mechanical & test equipment to ensure operational up time and minimize disruptions. Conduct risk assessment, make recommendations and implement scheduled maintenance for effective cost management of equipment.
- You’ll participate / assist in vendor negotiations and selection.
- Any other task assigned by the General Manager.
What We Expect of You
- Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 5 - 7 years with aerospace MRO and/or OEM engineering experience and at least 3 - 5 years of demonstrated leadership track record.
- Good knowledge of processes (production and/or repair), technologies, aircraft components (e.g. pneumatic, hydraulic, heat exchangers, avionics/electronics, composites) and subsystems (e.g. air management, flight control and actuation, landing gear).
- Solid experience in repair and overhaul processes, procedures, technologies. Good understanding of repair station environment operating under relevant regulatory standards (e.g. FAA, EASA, CAAS, CAAC).
- Sufficiently qualified, experienced and eligible for approval by the regulatory authorities.
- Strong analytical skills in examining, assessing and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating, developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Commitment to foster a cooperative work environment; lead in conflict avoidance/resolution and mediation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at various hierarchical levels.
- Practical proficiency in relevant ERP/IT applications, such as MS office suite, BaaN, e-Lirom.
- Required to attend meetings, seminars, exhibitions, customers’ visits, product training and company functions.
- Required to travel in support of business activities.
- Exposed to a combination of normal office and shop environments
