About the role Liebherr-Adelaide is seeking a suitably experienced and switched on Trades Assistant to support our team of Boilermakers and Welders based in Para Hills West. Reporting to the Fabrication Team Leader on day shift (5.30am to 1.36pm plus additional voluntary over time available), you will be responsible for the provision of safe, efficient and compliant support services to the Mining Division’s Trades employees and its Customers.
Duties
- Operate overhead cranes up to 40t, turning large excavator buckets and attachments
- Assist in dual crane lifts
- Loading and unloading of trucks
- Basic administrative tasks
- Applying quality control techniques
- Maintaining a safe and clean work place
- Use basic hand and power tools
- Operate basic workshop equipment
- Ordering spare parts
- Lubricating mechanical equipment and components
- Operating lifting equipment
- Inspecting work for conformity to established standards
- Basic measurement and inspection
Skills & Experience
- Certificate II Engineering (Mechanical) or >2 years' industry experience
- Current driver’s licence
- Current High Risk Licence LF essential
- Current High Risk Licence CB, DG and RI all highly desirable
- Technically minded and computer savvy
- Hand tool experience preferred
- Great attitude towards learning, attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised
