A vacancy has arisen within our MCC Sales department in Biggleswade for a Sales Manager (North) – Harbour Mobile Cranes. You will be looking after the North of England, which is also the area we are looking for the successful candidate to be based around.
The role contributes to the success of Liebherr – Great Britain Ltd by is responsible for exceeding targets through expert management of all aspects of the sales process whilst ensuring outstanding customer service at all times and working within the Company’s key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.

Your responsibilities as a Sales Manager:

•    Generate sales leads to achieve short and long term sales growth through networking, referrals, and prospecting.
•    Build new relationships and network with new and existing client organisations.
•    Identifying, penetrating, and closing business opportunities.
•    Prepare and follow up quotations.
•    Follow up all orders and ensure that the correct specification is delivered to the customer and that the company is paid promptly.
•    Develop and execute the sales strategy to grow identified market segments within the sales territory.
•    Work closely with the sales office organisation and other departments to maximise productivity and reduce costs.
•    Maintain and develop existing customer base.
•    Contacting customers regularly to check if they have any new requirements.
•    Extensive travel both in the UK and overseas as required.
•    Attend exhibitions as required.
•    Report lost orders.
•    To keep the Liebherr database system updated with all meaningful sales activities logged by the end of the week following those activities. Keep customer details up to date and add any new customer details or contacts.
•    Regular updates by email of your current prospects for new and used machines giving a probability and timing of each prospect listed.
•    To advise management of any changes in competitor or market activity.
•    Note all customer complaints when received and pass these on in writing using the company’s quality procedures.
•    Participate in training courses as requested.
•    Any other duty as required by management commensurate with the post.

To be successful in the Sales Manager role you need to have:

•    Experience in a similar role.
•    Thorough understanding of the Maritime Industry and associated markets.
•    Sales skills, strong problem solving capabilities and an entrepreneurial drive
•    An ability to understand and articulate the benefits of our products to potential customers
•    Ability to use own initiative
•    Able to demonstrate ability to work effectively in a pressurised environment.
