The Opportunity:Reporting to the Inventory Purchasing Manager, the Inventory Purchasing Officer is responsible for ensuring parts are purchased and available to meet customer demand and requirements, general purchasing enquires, supplier management and purchase order management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Action MRP proposed purchase signals through Purchase Dashboard in ERP system on a routine cycle, completing all steps required to ensure deliveries of goods are on time and in full.
  • Prepare purchase orders and distribute to suppliers on a timely and organised manner.
  • Actively collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely purchasing and delivery of materials, while maintaining high accuracy of purchase order delivery date in ERP system.
  • Analyse MRP stock movements to proactively identify and address potential issues in the supply chain.
  • Generate reports and communicate regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to provide updates on purchase orders, forward forecasts, supply constraints, and resolution on purchasing related issues.
  • Attend regular meetings with internal stakeholders and suppliers to maintain strong customer supplier relationships
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation related to purchasing team, and participate in audit as required.
  • Assist and provide coverage to other purchasing team members when required.
  • Adhere to key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the efficiency of the purchasing process.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or relevant field [Desired but not essential]
  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a fast-paced industry.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of supply chain processes and cause-and-effect relationships.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team while showcasing teamwork
  • Excellent analytical skills and an appreciation for continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Suites [Outlook, Excel (Pivot table, V-Lookup, Power Query, etc.) and Power BI].
  • Proficient in using ERP systems.
