Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS
In 2014 an entirely new facility was built in Colmar next to Liebherr-Mining Equipment SAS. Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS is dedicated to the development, design, assembly, as well as the testing of large diesel engines. These products extend the current Liebherr diesel engine portfolio in the upper performance range.
Based on decades of experience in the mining industry and expertise as an engine manufacturer, Liebherr has developed the brand new D98 diesel engine series. The new product range will include three different cylinder variants – a V12, a V16 and a V20.

Developing the next generation of large engines
As a new development and assembly center of the Liebherr Group, Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS launches a new diesel engine especially designed for the requirements of the mining industry: the D9812. Additionally, V16 and V20 cylinder variants of the D98 are already in development and will soon be available. They will not only meet the needs of mining application but also be ideal partners for other industries.
Cutting-edge facility
To develop these large diesel engines, Liebherr invested in a facility with the best infrastructure and technology. Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS is equipped with several test benches and an automated assembly line to produce the best-in-class diesel engines.
