A second LTM 1090-4.2 within two years – Schwientek takes delivery of new Liebherr mobile crane

Mobile crane and recovery contractor Schwientek & Sohn based in Leverkusen has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 mobile crane. It was handed over in May this year at the Liebherr plant in Ehingen. This is the second crane of this model the company has bought within two years. The main criteria behind the purchase included the crane’s great flexibility and economy – the 4-axle crane has a 60 metre telescopic boom and can be driven on public roads with either a twelve or a ten tonne axle load. This version delivers major benefits for road licensing and route approval procedures. Find out more

Straight from the crane factory to a job in a wind farm

Sommer Kranverleih GmbH based in Bremen has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane. For its first job, the new crane was driven straight from the manufacturing plant in Ehingen to the “Vier Berge” Wind Farm in Saxony-Anhalt. Once there, it installed cables for bracing concrete towers at a hook height of 100 metres. Find out more

ECOL - Liebherr awarded certificate to provide training for the European crane operators licence

In March, the training centre at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH was awarded a certificate, which officially enables it to train crane operators for the new European Crane Operators Licence (ECOL). The certification company, Lloyd´s Register, had first checked that Liebherr could provide the required training and whether the training centre met the high standards. The first three mobile crane operators have since taken and passed the examination with Liebherr. Find out more

The Deutsche Bahn [German Railway] is extending the suburban railway network in Munich. One of the central entrances to the second core line is being built at Marienhof in the Altstadt. Six Liebherr machines are in operation for this development. Even the high demands for the realization of this project cannot shake the new slurry wall package. Find out more
