Material handling made easy

Duty cycle crawler cranes from Liebher are used for a wide variety of applications with a dragline bucket, mostly for the mining of sand and/or gravel.
The dragline bucket is more or less cast as required through the swinging of the duty cycle crawler crane.

Service life
Duty cycle crawler cranes must endure especially high dynamic stresses during dragline operation. Their robust steel construction not only increases the performance but also extends the service life making them perfectly suited for material handling operation.
Dragline control
The Interlock control system allows for power regeneration in dragline operation. This reduces the fuel consumption as well as the wear of the free-fall winch.
Transportation
Special attention was given to the uncomplicated and economic transportation on all roads in accordance with current international transport regulations. Thanks to minimum set-up work the machine can be quickly mobilized between jobsites so promoting economic deployment.

5.5 million tonnes for the Hungarian motorway system

For about one year, two duty cycle crawler cranes, type HS 8070, worked twenty-four hours, seven days a week. Each machine was equipped with a 23 m long boom as well as a dragline bucket with a filling capacity of 3 m³.

Every day about 16,000 t of sand and gravel were extracted from depths of down to 12 m. That means a turnover of approximately 330 t per hour and machine. The average diesel consumption was only 24-26 litres per hour.
