The Liebherr LH 50 M Industry Litronic material handler at Elmia Wood 2017

  • Operating weight of between 40 and 43.5 tonnes
  • Optimal handling combined with low fuel consumption
  • Precision operation

At this year‘s Elmia Wood International Forestry Trade Fair in Jönköping, Liebherr is presenting the LH 50 M Industry Litronic material handler. This machine impresses with its efficiency and high levels of performance. The standard Liebherr regenerative power system ensures optimal handling while, at the same time, delivering lower fuel consumption. The machine attachment is available in a variety of versions, which means that it is always ideally matched to the application in hand.

Equipment on the Liebherr LH 50 M Industry Litronic being exhibited at Elmia Wood 2017 includes a straight 9.10m boom and a 6.80m stick with angled stick end as well as a Liebherr GMH 80 timber grab with a filling volume of 1.9m². Another element of the machine's configuration is the hydraulic cab with infinitely adjustable height and the patented ERC energy recovery system comes as standard on the LH 50 M Industry Litronic.

Redefined performance

The LH 50 M Industry Litronic material handler’s diesel engine is a four-cylinder in-line engine from Liebherr, which conforms to Stage IV / Tier 4f exhaust emission guidelines and delivers an output of 155kW / 211HP.

The high level of power provided by the engine means that the system has a high level of torque available for powerful movements. In addition, load peaks are skillfully compensated for so that the maximum torque is available at all times to enable the greatest level of material handling performance. In combination with the separate hydraulic pump in the enclosed slewing circuit, maximum acceleration and top speeds are guaranteed in operation.

Thanks to the Liebherr ERC energy recovery system, the LH 50 M Industry Litronic is able to deliver 245kW of overall system power. The energy saved by lowering the attachment using the ERC system is available to the machine to provide additional engine power. The result is more powerful, faster and more consistent operating cycles, which leads to increased handling capacity. The ERC energy recovery system not only brings about a huge increase in performance and a greater handling capacity, it also generates fuel savings of up to 30 per cent, lowers operating costs and reduces both pollutant and noise emissions.

The LH 50 M Industry Litronic combines intelligent electronics with sensitive hydraulics and ensures precise and finely controlled work with simultaneously fast and powerful movements. The cleverly conceived machine control system guarantees that the adaptation of the hydraulics for specific uses is maximised. Speed and strength are available as and when required.

Technology delivers convenience

The LH 50 M Industry Litronic’s operator’s cab offers the best conditions for productive work in an environment designed to facilitate high levels of concentration and with the health of the operator in mind. The cab has been modified and improved in terms of safety and comfort. The foldable left-hand armrest facilitates access to the cab, thus ensuring enhanced safety. The new joysticks, with standard proportional control via four-way mini joysticks, enable various control options. This includes, for example, operation of the outrigger with greater control and precision without having to move the hand.
