Scholl takes delivery of new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane
- LTM 1230-5.1 for the Rhine-Neckar conurbation, the Neckar-Odenwald district and neighbouring areas
- Variable boom system together with VarioBase® and VarioBallast® ideal for jobs in the chemical and construction industries
- Greater mobility due to greater ease in obtaining road licences
Karl Scholl GmbH from Heidelberg took delivery of an LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen during November. The 5-axle LTM 1230-5.1 delivers greater mobility due to it being much easier to obtain road licences for it. The 230-tonne crane will also upgrade the company’s fleet due to its variable boom system comprising a 75 metre telescopic boom and a 39 metre infinitely adjustable luffing jib as well as innovations such as VarioBase® and VarioBallast®.
Joachim Sommer, Regional Sales Director at Liebherr, handed over the new LTM 1230-5.1 to Wolfgang Schneider, Managing Director at Scholl-Group Heidelberg, and also to Karl-Heinz Scholl and Christoph Fischer, who will operate the new crane. Schneider gave his reasons behind the decision to buy the new Liebherr crane: “The new LTM 1230-5.1 delivers excellent crane capacity in the 5-axle class and is flexible to use. The LTM 1230-5.1 also fits perfectly into our fleet from a logistics point of view. It can be made ready for use quickly and is flexible. Its 75 metre telescopic boom and its variable lattice extensions make it ideal for use in the chemical and construction industries. Its variable support base and reducible ballast radius enables us to use the new crane even better in constricted environments”.
Wolfgang Schneider also mentioned the greater mobility of the 5-axle LTM 1230-5.1 with its 60 tonne driving weight as a major criterion behind the decision: “We can use the new crane faster and therefore lower cost as we do not have to comply with any driving time restrictions. The new crane also has lower emissions – the engine on the new LTM 1230-5.1 already complies with the very latest exhaust emissions regulation Stage V”.
