What mobile machines are Liebherr camera systems suitable for?

Liebherr camera systems are designed for the demanding operating conditions of mobile machinery. Designed to withstand temperature fluctuations, dust, humidity and changing light conditions, our cameras and camera systems have been proving their worth for years in Liebherr Group machines and those of external customers. But the range of applications goes far beyond construction machinery. Our camera systems are also an efficiency-boosting application for all mobile machines in the fields of agriculture and forestry, off-road, material handling, waste disposal and special vehicles. These include, for example, sprayers, harvesters, reach stackers, municipal vehicles and many more.

I'm not sure which camera system is the best fit for my requirements.

If you want to monitor the entire working environment around your machine, our 360° LiXplore® Bird's Eye system is the ideal choice. The seamless bird's eye view enables the machine operator to safely identify people and objects in the work environment.

On the other hand, if you're looking to monitor specific details of a work process or specific areas of the environment, such as the machine's attachment, our LiXplore® CMS camera monitor system is the perfect solution. It provides targeted monitoring for increased precision during the work process.

360° Surround view system

What is the difference between a Bird View System and LiXplore® Bird's Eye?

There is no difference. Whether they are called Bird's Eye, Top View or Surround View systems, they are all basically the same: digital camera images are combined to create a seamless 360° surround view. Liebherr's LiXplore® Bird's Eye surround view system uses digital cameras that have been tried and tested in the Group's machines for many years. The system delivers consistently high HD image quality, even in changing light conditions.

Can I install Liebherr's 360° camera system on my existing machine?

LiXplore® Bird's Eye is currently only available to manufacturers who are designing a new machine. If you are not an OEM but are interested in a 360° system for your machine, please contact your manufacturer or dealer directly with your enquiry.

I am working on the design of a new machine. How do I know if the Liebherr 360° camera system is suitable for it?

Use our technical data and 3D models to determine if our system is compatible with your machine. If you have any specific questions, our team will be happy to help.

Can I install Liebherr cameras at different levels?

Of course you can. You can see how well this works on a wheel loader, for example, here.

If I have a 360 camera system, do I need an extra rear camera?

No, this is not necessary. The rear view of the machine is already built into the system and can be selected and displayed via the touch screen.

Is it possible to display only a 270° view instead of a 360° surround view to capture specific areas?

Yes, our system can display a 270° view instead of a full 360° surround view. This allows you to focus on capturing the side and rear areas of the machine.

System settings and user interface

What format is available for viewing the camera image on the display?

Our system offers two options, landscape and portrait, so you can choose the format that best suits your viewing needs.

Can I display the same camera image on multiple workstations simultaneously?

Yes, our system can send the same video stream to multiple displays so that identical images can be displayed at different workstations. Read here how our digital cameras are helping track maintenance machine manufacturer system7 meet this challenge.

Is it possible to customize the interface design?

Absolutely! You can customize the company logo that appears on the system startup to give it a personal touch. You can also choose a unique colour scheme for the interface. You can also use geometric shapes, known as overlays, to define specific danger zones and maximum distances.

Start-up and calibration

Can the Liebherr 360° system be calibrated during operation?

Yes, it is possible to calibrate our system in the field using our calibration mats. Simply place the mats on a flat surface and press a button on the display to initiate and complete the calibration process. The entire process typically takes approximately 5 minutes.

Do the mats need to be measured before calibration?

No, there is no need to measure the mats before calibration. See how quick and easy it is to calibrate our system.
