Liebherr energy storage system Liduro increases efficiency of mobile and stationary applications

At SPS IPC Drives 2017, Liebherr is presenting its in-house developed energy storage system "Liduro", which has been specially designed to increase the efficiency of mobile and stationary applications. Outstanding design quality: Two German Design Awards for Liebherr’s earthmoving machines

Liebherr received the 2018 German Design Award in the "Excellent Product Design" category for its T46-7 telescopic handler and its XPower® L 550 to L 586 wheel loaders. The expert judges were impressed by the optimal visibility and the dynamic appearance of the telescopic handler, as well as the intelligent and functional design of the XPower wheel loaders. The German Design Award is one of the most highly recognised design competitions worldwide. Find out more

LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane assembles special Liebherr construction crane for Max Bögl energy storage project

Tower cranes were assembled in September on the natural electricity storage site at Gaildorf, an innovative energy storage project being completed by the Max Bögl Group in southern Germany. The contractor erected the highest wind turbines in the world there. Max Bögl is combining the wind turbines with a pumped-storage power plant. A Liebherr mobile crane was used to assemble the 630 EC-H top-slewing cranes from the same manufacturer. On the site near Schwäbisch Hall, the LTM 11200-9.1 assembled the three massive construction cranes on the 40-metre high foundations of the wind turbines which are also used as water storage basins. Liebherr Presents its Autonomous Haulage Surface Mining Solution

Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News, Co. will unveil its new autonomous haulage solution this week in Cologne, Germany, at the Autonomous Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium. Liebherr’s development program towards autonomous haulage is currently underway. An initial prototype testing is active since 2016. Liebherr plans to begin field trials of a pre-series at a customer site in 2019. Find out more

New 500-tonne crane in action with Steil

Steil Kranarbeiten based in Trier has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane. Outstanding mobility, an 84-metre telescopic boom and continuous improvements made to the renowned crane model were the main reasons behind the purchase decision. For its first job, the new Liebherr 500-tonne crane worked with another LTM 1500-8.1 from Steil to complete a tandem hoist of a 185 tonne gas turbine in Luxembourg. Find out more

Agritechnica 2017: New D964 four-cylinder engine extends Liebherr diesel engine portfolio

At Agritechnica 2017, Liebherr unveils its 4-cylinder in-line D964 engine. This 9-litre engine can generate a maximum power output of 300 kW. It is part of the new generation of engines from Liebherr to comply with the EU Stage V emission standards, and will be available from 2019. Find out more
