Hennemann Holzbau renews fleet with two Liebherr mobile cranes
- Hennemann takes ownership of LTM 1030-2.1 and LTM 1070-4.2
- Approval-free mobility for flexible crane deployments
- All cranes equipped with radio-control
Hennemann Holzbau GmbH from Tautenhain in Saxony has taken ownership of two new mobile cranes from Liebherr. An LTM 1030-2.1 replaces a 13 year-old crane of the same type. And an LTM 1060/2 built in 2004 is replaced by a new LTM 1070-4.2. The company is now ready for the future with an upgraded crane fleet.
Company owner Peter Hennemann travelled to Liebherr in Ehingen in person with his crane drivers to take ownership of the new mobile cranes. He explains, “The purchase of replacements for the two cranes, which are well over ten years old, is an important step for us as we prepare ourselves properly for the future. We use our cranes almost exclusively for our own timber construction projects.” Apart from the two LTM cranes, the company, which has a total of 18 employees, operates a four year-old telescopic construction crane of type LTF 1060-4.1.
With the LTF 1060-4.1 and the LTM 1070-4.2, the company can also operate a 10 tonne axle load in addition to the 12 tonne axle load variant, and can therefore operate across Germany without special approval. This was an important criterion for the company owner. Hennemann explains, “Most of our crane work is in the 60 to 70 tonne range. Right across Germany, we have orders for shopping centres and logistics halls, in which glue laminated timbers of up to 40 metres in length and up to 10 tonnes in weight have to be installed. The Liebherr cranes with 10 tonne axle load offer us the flexibility we need in this area.”
Hennemann ordered all three cranes with radio-control. This option was already very important to the company on the earlier cranes because the crane driver can actively cooperate in person on securing the slings onto the glue-laminated timbers and fitting them. He can also maintain a better overview of the assembly situation and is not required to maintain radio contact with banksmen. The radio-control is also important for the flexible deployment of Hennemann’s five crane drivers, because all of them are also timber engineers. Apart from the crane technology, Peter Hennemann cites the high resale value of liebherr mobile cranes as an important reason for purchasing the new cranes from Liebherr again.
