35 Years of Liebherr-Australia

From Liebherr’s first presence in Australia in 1970, the company has established a reputation for technology, innovation, and as a leader in each respective field. The family owned company has eleven divisions all over the world and Australia is home to five: Mining, Earthmoving, Mobile Cranes, Crawler Cranes and, more recently, Maritime Cranes, which are represented in over eleven branches in Australia and three in New Zealand. This continued spread demonstrates Liebherr’s commitment to providing support to customers in both Australia and New Zealand, with major expansion projects undertaken in the last five years.

Liebherr-Australia has celebrated alongside long-time employees, some of whom are still working with the company after 25 years. 2015 marked the retirement of Joseph Mayer after a milestone fifty years with the company: a Liebherr legend who assembled the first Liebherr R 994 mining excavator in the early 1980s.

Technology, innovation, productivity, and reliability are all key factors in Liebherr equipment. Typical of Liebherr equipment, the very first crawler loader, LR 631, was introduced in 1984 and is still in operation. Liebherr-Australia Pty. Ltd. enjoys a strong reputation for customer focus in its aftersales activities; continuing to offer comprehensive customer service and support for mining equipment, earthmoving equipment, mobile and crawler cranes and foundation technology. The Liebherr-Australia Board of Management wish to thank the people and customers who have helped contribute to the company’s successes and they “look forward to the next 35 years of increasing our product lines, providing expanded support and service options, and developing strong partnerships with valued customers”.
