Hanchang takes delivery of Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane

Hanchang Heavy Equipment Co., one of the largest crane contractors in South Korea, officially took delivery of a new Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane in mid-December 2015. At the same time Hanchang unveiled the 1000-tonne lattice boom crane to its customers and partners on its site in Ulsan. The new crane will supplement Hanchang's existing fleet of crawler cranes between the Liebherr LR 1750 and LR 11350 machines. Hanchang's reasons for buying the LR 11000 include its outstanding load capacities in all configurations and the very compact design of the Liebherr 1,000-tonne machine. Find out more

Liebherr and Teufelberger develop a high-strength fibre rope for crane operation

Together with the Austrian rope manufacturer Teufelberger Holding AG, Liebherr is developing a new type of high-strength fibre rope for hoisting operations. This project is based on a systematic cooperative venture between Liebherr engineers from various divisions, including Liebherr-Components Biberach GmbH, as well as the three Liebherr manufacturing plants for tower cranes, mobile and crawler cranes and maritime cranes. Liebherr crawler cranes with special equipment at the new Niederfinow boat lift

One of the most impressive industrial monuments in Germany has been providing reliable service for more than 80 years: the boat lift in Niederfinow on the Oder-Havel Canal. On this waterway which connects Berlin to Szczecin in Poland, the boat lift helps traffic to overcome a 36-metre elevation. The vertical lift hoists barges up to 80 metres in length using a massive water trough which can be closed like a lock chamber. Find out more
