Participants from many different countries submitted a total of around 5,500 products for the Red Dot Design Award 2019’s “Product Design” category. Only products that stand out through their exceptional design are awarded the sought-after Red Dot quality seal by the award’s international jury.
The 370 EC-B 12 Fibre: A synthesis of innovation, functionality, comfort and aesthetic appeal
The 370 EC-B 12 Fibre is currently the largest of a brand-new series of cranes, which sets new standards for functional and aesthetic design. Produced by Liebherr, this flat-top crane series impresses through unparalleled performance, thanks to its new fibre rope feature, numerous innovative, detailed transport and assembly solutions as well as an exceptional design.
The modern colour concept incorporates yellow and grey corporate design elements, ensures optimal brand recognition and brings together individual functional elements to form a distinctive functioning unit. This is further supported by the dynamic design of the jib and cabin. Upon request, the yellow painted sections can be easily and cost-effectively adapted to the respective company’s colours – and thanks to the bi-colour design concept, the distinctive style of the new Liebherr cranes remains intact. In order to meet market demands for larger advertising surfaces, these have been integrated into the design. The remarkable aspect of this is that the wind exposed surface area remains the same. As a result, the crane maintains its individual character, with a significant advertising impact over distance, and is even easily recognisable in the context of a large crane park.
The emphasis Liebherr places on professional design has been proven by the construction machine manufacturer before, with its development of the L1 and K fast-erecting crane series, which also received a number of design awards.
Trade show premiere at Bauma 2019 in Munich
From the 8th to the 14th of April, Liebherr will be presenting its new EC-B series at the world’s largest construction machinery trade fair in Munich. The first eight units of the new series already cover a wide range of services – from small city to large transhipment cranes, it’s all there. As a result, the maximum load capacity ranges from 6 to 16 tonnes and the max. jib head load capacity ranges from 1.6 tonnes to 2.8 tonnes – working at a max. radius. At full jib length, the units are among the largest in their class. The 125 EC-B 6 itself reaches a proud 58 metres. The two largest cranes of this series, the 340 EC-B 12 and the 370 EC-B 12 Fibre, both have a reach of up to 78 metres and are therefore especially suitable for larger construction projects.
