New flagship: Richi replaces 350-tonne crane with new Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane

  • LTM 1350-6.1 modernises Richi's fleet
  • Liebherr's impressive technology, efficiency and reliability prove decisive
  • New crane lifts concrete pillars and performs well on first assignment

The Swiss company Richi AG, based in Weiningen, has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane, which replaces an older model of the same type in its fleet. Modern technology, efficiency and extensive experience with the LTM 1350-6.1 convinced the Swiss company to invest in this model once again.

The Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane is now Richi AG's flagship and the largest six-axle crane in its fleet. It replaces an older LTM 1350-6.1 after 14 years of reliable service. Over this time, the 350-tonne crane has proven to be the ideal choice for Richi AG’s requirements. “Our experience with Liebherr cranes has been consistently positive. Their machines offer outstanding reliability and durability, as well as exceptional build quality. This high standard has consistently proven invaluable in our daily operations,” says Markus Fleck, Head of the Crane and Special Transport department at Richi. According to Fleck, excellent customer service in Switzerland, rapid spare parts availability and the value retention of Liebherr cranes were also key factors behind the company's purchasing decision.

However, there were also other sound reasons for Richi AG to acquire another six-axle Liebherr crane: “The Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane offers impressive versatility and performance, making it ideal for many of our projects. Its load bearing capacity, reach and mobility allow us to efficiently handle even very challenging tasks,” explains Fleck. The LTM 1350-6.1 is distinguished by its especially high lifting capacity and a 70-metre telescopic boom. Furthermore, its lifting capacity can be increased thanks to the Y-guying system, which, in many cases, doubles the Liebherr mobile crane's performance. This makes the LTM 1350-6.1 ideal for its primary task at Richi: the assembly and disassembly of tower cranes. The new crane will also be used in construction, infrastructure projects and industry. Its first assignment was the construction of a new warehouse in Embrach, Canton of Zurich, where the LTM 1350-6.1 demonstrated its capabilities, successfully positioning eight-tonne concrete pillars at a radius of 53 metres.

The new Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane has also impressed Richi with its innovative design and advanced technologies: “The VarioBase® variable supporting base and ECOmode provide us with real added value,” explains Fleck. "These features enhance safety, flexibility and the efficiency of our operations, which is especially critical for complex projects.”
