Handover of a customised Liebherr R 998 SME crawler excavator to Prangenberg & Zaum GmbH

The implementation of custom specifications is made possible by the Liebherr Application Center at Liebherr France SAS, which implements customers’ individual requirements. This R 998 SME is used for selective demolition work during deconstruction.

P&Z requested a variety of custom specifications for its new crawler excavator, to enable higher productivity along with more comfort and safety during demolition work. Equipment installed at the company’s request included, among other items, improved hydraulics for the shear, a dust filter to clean cab air, and a sprinkler system to prevent dust formation. In addition, the gooseneck boom and special stick allow recovery of demolition material on the ground. P&Z has already ordered, in addition, an R 972 Liebherr crawler excavator with a similar custom configuration. A key role in needs identification and project implementation was also played by Liebherr dealer WBI Bau- und Industriemaschinen GmbH, based in Dormagen (Germany).

“We were very happy with the advice from the dealer, WBI, and with the implementation of the technical details directly by Liebherr,” said Tobias Prangenberg.
