Back to Liebherr after 30 years: Bäsmann orders 60-tonne mobile crane
- LTM 1060-3.1 updates the mid-range segment in Bäsmann’s fleet
- 60-tonne crane to be used primarily for work on biogas plants
- Premium product impresses with technical performance and innovative features
Bäsmann Kran- und Transport GmbH is updating its crane fleet: a Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane will now replace an older 60-tonne model. With its long boom, compact dimensions and flexible erection jib, the new arrival is suitable for a wide range of applications.
After three decades, crane rental company Bäsmann has once again opted for a Liebherr mobile crane. The latest addition to the North German company’s fleet is an LTM 1060-3.1. “We looked carefully at the market and spoke to other customers during the Liebherr Customer Days. The combination of versatile performance and Liebherr’s broad product range eventually won us over,” says Managing Director Florian Bäsmann. “Given our technical requirements, we opted for the LTM 1060-3.1 from Liebherr to replace an old 60-tonne model – it fits perfectly into our fleet’s mid-range segment.”
The LTM 1060-3.1 is designed for on-road driving with lots of ballast. Particular attention was paid to the intelligent configuration of the counterweight plates on this mobile crane. This means that a wide range of driving configurations can be achieved quickly and easily. Thanks to its compact dimensions, as well as ECOmode and ECOdrive, the mobile crane is also cost-efficient to run. In addition, the three-axle crane boasts a long telescopic boom and impressive lifting capacities.
Powerful and versatile
“Alongside VarioBase® and wireless remote control, the long boom was a key factor in choosing the LTM 1060-3.1, as it will primarily be used for work on biogas plants,” says Bäsmann. Other application areas for the powerful mobile crane include steel and concrete construction as well as agriculture. For indoor work – such as installing crane runways – Bäsmann has also ordered a special folding jib that allows for greater flexibility when working close to edges.
“The new 60-tonne crane is a premium product that impresses with its technical performance and innovative technology – from the supports to the BTT wireless remote control,” says crane driver Andreas Lenz during the two-day product briefing in Ehingen. His colleague René Rubarth adds: “Before the first job, we’ll take a closer look at the technical features in more detail.”
