Liftinghero Mario
Mario Rödde from Kassel, Germany, is an impassioned crane assembly engineer and is the latest member to join our Liftinghero community.
Mario can be found on Instagram under the name “Kranschubser”and has already built up a respectable following there. He regularly posts inspiring photos and videos of exciting construction sites and shares his day-to-day crane work with his followers.
He never expected to have more than 2,000 followers and enjoys receiving messages from other crane assemblers from all over the world. For Mario, having a skilled trade and being an influencer go hand in hand these days.
The assembly engineer likes to edit videos and photos each evening after work; it’s his way of tying together his job, his passion for cranes and his hobby.
His aim is to make people more aware of what being an assembly engineer entails and to inspire young people to take up the profession. “There’s a desperate need for more assembly engineers, even though it’s such an exciting job and full of variety!” says Mario. “Every construction site is different and challenging – work never gets boring.” Mario is out in the fresh air a lot and especially enjoys the adrenaline rush of working on cranes with high hook heights.
As his content is doing well on social media, Mario has even launched merchandise with his own logo. The proceeds from this will go to charity.
Filming for a Liebherr promotional video
Liftinghero Mario was actually already involved in filming a Liebherr video back in 2019, which featured the assembly of a 340 EC-B flat-top crane. What was it like to be part of a professional video shoot?
“It was pretty exciting! I cut my holiday short just to be there and assemble this particular crane. A new crane, with a new tower system, and the most powerful machine I’ve ever had the chance to assemble – that’s not something you want to miss. The weather was perfect and it was so much fun. I didn't really notice the cameras, only the sounds of the drones from time to time. It was a great feeling to see the video finished; I felt proud that I’d taken part in it.”
Crane assemblies mean teamwork and nothing is impossible.
Mario exclusively assembles Liebherr top-slewing cranes. His opinion here is: the higher, the better! He believes in our Liebherr cranes, “They’re easy to assemble, and you can feel their quality and stability.” He also really likes the regular training courses available in Biberach.
Liftinghero Mario’s favourite jobs so far include working on the assembly of a 90 EC-B flat-top crane against the beautiful backdrop of Bertholdsburg Castle in Schleusingen, and the assembly of a 71 EC-B flat-top crane at St Peter’s Cathedral in Schleswig at a height of 72 metres.

Tower cranes shape the image of every construction site. And what about the people who assemble, maintain, operate and work with the cranes? Whether crane operators, service technicians, fitters or construction site workers - you are the heroes of the construction site!
Only through you is the lifting of loads on the construction sites of this world possible.
