Pioneers in Paraguay

The Rio Paraguay is one of the longest natural waterways in the world and Paraguay's main trade route, as almost all the country's goods are transported by ship. To ensure a smooth supply chain, efficiency plays a key role for the exchange of goods between water and land.
One of the most important terminals for container handling in the area of Asunción is our customer Terport, with Terport Villeta handling over 50 % of all Paraguayan container traffic.

Around the world with 80 cranes

Liebherr has had a record year with its maritime mobile harbour cranes. The order intake volume in the past year 2021 was higher than ever before. In total, more than 80 new units and also various used units were sold to customers worldwide.

Liebherr mobile harbour cranes were ordered from 31 different countries with all continents being represented. There was strong growth in the Middle East and West Africa regions and stable core markets in Europe as well as North and South America. A strong increase in sales of the LHM 800 was recorded, which more than tripled compared to the previous year.

Fully automated RMGs enter service

Three fully automated, rail mounted gantry cranes (RMGs) have entered service at the CSX Carolina Connector Intermodal Terminal (CCX) in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The cabinless RMGs bring state-of-the-art, emission-free container handling to CCX and have been supplied with Liebherr Remote Operator Stations (ROS) for supervised moves and exception handling.

3D stack and train profiling allows optimal path planning and the most productive and efficient spreader path rather than the traditional approach of square moves. The cranes work seven rail tracks, five wide container stacks and a truck transfer area.

LiMain: Enter the new age of maintenance

Liebherr Intelligent Maintenance (LiMain) paves the way for an even higher crane availability at lower operational costs (OPEX) on offshore platforms. The fully digital, semi-automated, and remote maintenance system offers more independence of time, place and resources for platform owners, resulting in never-before-seen savings.

All remote – XpertAssist

The new service for extended online support, XpertAssist, ensures access to easy and immediate troubleshooting. The utilization of technicians can thus be optimized for maximum benefit. This gives everyone involved the chance to save resources and act sustainably - not only in terms of costs and time spent on travel, but also with regard to the environment.

LHM celebrates 300th delivery

The LHM 550 is one of the best-selling crane types in Liebherr’s mobile harbour crane portfolio. It now celebrates its 300th delivery. One of the leading port operators in Poland, Port Gdańsk Eksploatacja S.A., has signed a contract with Liebherr for a new LHM 550 mobile harbour crane. This marks a milestone for the LHM 550 which is an international success story for Liebherr for already more than ten years.
